Kia Sonet's interior cabin will be largely inspired from the Seltos SUV.

Kia Sonet has been undergoing test runs for quite some time now and a couple of days back, we told you that the launch of the new SUV has been pushed to November 2020 due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Recently, it was again spied as a test mule and luckily, the first images of the interior have also come out. Being based on the same architecture as Hyundai Venue, it will be the third Kia product in the Indian market and will challenge the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.

Going by the spy-shot, the cabin is finished in a dual-tone black and beige upholstery and the latter can be noticed at the door pads. It appears to be the top-of-the-line GT line trim. The seats come with double-stitched piping in red while they are made of Transys leather alongside the ventilation feature (centre console confirms this). The huge 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is placed above the centre console which is likely to come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster and several other elements will be borrowed from the Seltos and the cabin is expected to be fitted with an array of first-in-segment features such as wireless charging, drive modes, Bose music system and a 360 degree camera.

Kia Sonet will be locally developed at Kia's Anantapur production facility in Andhra Pradesh. The safety kit might include upto 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seats, seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters etc. among others. The spied unit of Kia Sonet boasts of a manual transmission but we can also expect a auto gearbox, most probably the 7-speed dual-clutch unit seen on the Venue. It will have the same engine options as the Venue and the power output can also be expected similar. Kia Sonet price could start at Rs 6 Lakhs and go as high as Rs 11 Lakhs for the range-topping variant (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom). The buyers can expect a lot more bells and whistles than the Hyundai Venue in the Sonet.
