The leaked Kia Sonet images reveal the rear profile and C-Pillar.

A couple of days back, we reported to you that Kia Sonet will have its world premiere on August 7, 2020 in India. However, ahead of its global debut, the clear images of the sub-compact SUV have surfaced on the internet. The leaked images reveal the rear profile and C-Pillar of the upcoming subcompact SUV which will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300 in the Indian market. It will be Kia's third product in India after the highly successful Seltos and Carnival.

Going by the spy-images, Kia Sonet will flaunt dual-pod LED tail-lamp cluster along with a reflector strip. The rear bumper will be in a dual tone shade with silver inserts while it houses the number plate as well. The SUV will have black plastic cladding near the wheel arches while the small quarter glass can be noticed at the rear end. The leaked images suggest that it is a base or a mid-level variant as it does not ride on alloy wheels. However, one can spot rear AC vents in the images leaked on the internet. Needless to say, Kia Sonet will come loaded with several premium features such as 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connected car technology, sunroof, Bose sound system, cruise control, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, Start/Stop button etc. to name a few.

Mechanically, Kia Sonet will be available with three engine options as told earlier. The transmission choices will be a 6-speed manual, an intelligent manual transmission (iMT) unit and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. For those asking, the iMT or AMT gearbox has already debuted with Hyundai Venue a few days back in the country. The diesel variants will get a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox which will be imported. Thus, the diesel-automatic variants might cost in excess of Rs 10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Though, Kia Sonet price is expected to begin at Rs 7 Lakhs. The company intends to retail nearly 70,000 units of the SUV in its first year in the country.
