Kia Sonet top-end GTX+ priced at Rs 12.89 lakhs for both petrol and diesel automatic variants

It was just last week, Kia Motor India launched the much-awaited subcompact SUV - the Sonet. At the time of its introduction, the Sonet was offered in 6 variants, namely HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and GTX+. The South Korean automaker did not reveal the prices of the top-end petrol and diesel automatic variants back then. Today, they have announced the prices of Kia Sonet GTX+ petrol and diesel automatic which start at Rs 12.89 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. Sonet is the third offering after the introduction of Seltos and Carnival in the country. In its segment, the Sonet will take on the like of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and newly launched Toyota Urban Cruiser in the Indian market. 

Talking about the GTX+ automatic variants, they stands to offer crown jewel LED headlamps, a font grille featuring glossy GT line logo and red accents. Further, red touches can be found on the front & rear bumpers and the nose grille that provide it a sporty look. Their cabins boasts of features like 10.25-inch HD Touchscreen Navigation, 4.2-inch color instrument cluster, BOSE premium 7 speaker system, ventilated driver and passenger seats plus electric sunroof among many others .

Kia Sonet currently comes with two petrol engines - Smartstream 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre Turbo GDi units. The 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers 82 bhp of maximum power output and 115 Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the Turbocharged Sonet delivers 118 bhp of power with 172 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options avaiable with the turbocharged engine comprise of a 6 speed-iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) and a 7 speed- DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission). As for the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel unit it offers to different 2 different state of tunes. First the 6-speed manual, it produces a power output of 98 bhp with 250 Nm torque. As for the 6-speed automatic, it belts out 113 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque.
