The upcoming Kia Sonet interior spied; all set to launch on August 7

Kia Motors India is all set to launch its compact SUV, Sonet on August 7 in the country. The company has listed the SUV on its official website. They had also released a video teasing the rear profile of the vehicle earlier. Recently, an image of Kia Sonet GT Line model surfaced online giving us a fair idea of what it can look like on the inside.

According to the spy image, the cabin of the Kia Sonet sports a fresh design with silver accents. However, it gets a layout similar to that of Kia Seltos. In fact the steering wheel and the infotainment system present in the Sonet are the same as the Seltos. Furthermore, the SUV gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the 7.0-inch TFT LCD. The Sonet gets a multi-colour display that is small in size along with a digital speedometer. The dashboard is positioned upright which provides maximum leg space for the driver and the co-passenger. Its AC vents are rectangular in shape and are vertically stacked. Talking about the centre console it houses buttons for the climate control unit, hazard lamps among many others. From the spy shot we can clearly make out that the interior belongs to the GT Line variant due to the presence of the GT Line badge on the bottom-most part of the steering wheel. The cabin also gets a black-themed interior with contrast red stitching.

Under the hood, the Kia Sonet will be offered with three engine options. There will be a 1.2-litre petrol engine linked to a manual gearbox as standard. Plus there will also be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox as standard along with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. While the diesel variant will draw power from a 1.5-litre engine. The engine will be offered with a manual gearbox and a torque-converter automatic transmission as an option.

The Kia Sonet is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 7 lakhs - Rs 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). Futher, the GT Line variant would be the most expensive of the lot. The SUV is expected to hit showrooms by September 2020. Once it is launched, it will compete against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, and Tata Nexon in its segment.
