Kia Sonet continues to touch new heights in the Indian market since its unveiling on the 20th of August, 2020. In just two months, the Sonet has crossed 50,000 bookings in the domestic market. Two orders are placed every 3 minutes illustrating the new subcompact SUV's appeal among the Indian buyer. Sonet also became the top-selling model of the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment in the country just within 12 days of its launch. It is the third model to be introduced by Kia after the launch of Seltos and Carnival. The price of base HTE model starts from Rs 6.71 lakhs (ex-showroom), India with the top-end GTX+ retailing at Rs 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Kia Sonet competes against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Toyota Urban Cruiser in its segment.



Kia Sonet is offered in two trims namely Tech Line and GT Line with the former coming in 5 variants - HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+. The GT Line on the other hand comes in only a GTX+ trim. Its interior features comprise of elements like a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen system with navigation & real-time traffic information alert, a 4.2-inch colour display, smart pure air purifier with virus protection, BOSE premium 7-speaker sound system, LED sound mood lighting, front ventilated seats, air conditioner with rear AC vents among many others.  



Safety features on-board the Sonet include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability, front parking sensors, a tire pressure monitor among others. Kia Sonet comes equipped with three BS6 compliant engines. The petrol models come fitted with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit. While the diesel models are powered by only a 1.5 CRDi oil mill. Transmission duties are carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox on the 1.2-litre petrol engine while the 1.0-litre turbocharged unit stands to provide a 6-speed iMT and a 7 -speed DCT shift. As for the diesel, it provides a 6-speed advanced automatic transmission.
