Kia Motors debuted its compact SUV, Kia Sonet today at the Auto Expo 2020. The product will be on display in Hall Number 7 at the Greater Noida Expo Mart. Set to take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue, this midsize SUV is expected to launch sometime later this year.
Its exterior features comprise of the signature tiger-nose grille, red highlight on the body cladding, floating roof design, faux skid plates, and projector LED headlamps at the front. While the rear end gets split LED taillamps with the number plate being housed in the bumper. This compact SUV is all set to ride on diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Kia Sonet comes with a host of new interior features. These include smart connectivity via the UVO Connect Technology along with an eSIM for internet connectivity. The dashboard inside the cabin is completely new. A few more highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple Carplay, a sunroof, wireless phone charger, and cruise control.
This sub-compact SUV is based on the Hyundai Venue. All set to offer three engine options that are BS6 compliant. There is a 1.2-liter petrol engine producing 83 bhp max power and 115 Nm torque, a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. Its diesel engine is a detuned version of the 1.5-litre motor from the Seltos. The 1.2-liter petrol motor is available with a 5-speed manual while the turbo-petrol engine is being offered with a 6-speed manual along with an option of 7-speed DCT auto.
