The South Korean carmaker Kia has announced a price hike on the popular Kia Seltos compact SUV in September 2024. A few Kia Seltos trims have now become expensive by INR 8,000. In the Indian market, the Kia Seltos SUV is now being offered at a starting price of INR 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom), and it goes up to INR 20.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec version. The Seltos compact is the company’s debutant model in India and has been one of the leading SUVs in the domestic market.
Kia India offers the Seltos SUV in 11 variants, including HTE, HTK Plus, HTK, HTX, HTX Plus, Gravity, GTX, X-Line (S), GTX Plus, GTX Plus (S), and X-Line. The price hike has been implemented on the HTX Plus, HTK Plus, HTX, GTX, HTK, and X-Line variants. However, Kia has left out the base petrol variants of Seltos from the price hike. On the contrary, the base HTE diesel MT variant now becomes dearer by INR 5,000. Additionally, the Kia Sonet has also become expensive by INR 11,000.
Other than this, the automaker has launched a new Kia Gravity variant for the Kia Sonet, Seltos, and Carens. The new Seltos Gravity Edition is placed above the HTX variant in the lineup. It is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 16.63 lakh. The Seltos Gravity Edition is loaded with features like a dash camera, Bose-sourced music system, electronic parking brake, ventilated front seats, and more.
Kia is going to have a busy year as there are a few vehicles set to launch in the country. Starting from Kia Carnival, which has been seen testing several times. Not only that, unofficial bookings for the upcoming Kia Carnival have also started at select Kia dealerships across India.
