The biggest addition in the new SUV range will be a panoramic sunroof

Kia India is all set to launch the 2022 Seltos facelift in the second half of this year in the country. Needless to say, the facelifted version will come with several cosmetic updates and new features while carrying the same set of petrol and diesel engines. The biggest addition in the new SUV range will be a panoramic sunroof which customers have been waiting for a long time. Being launched in August 2019 in the Indian market, Kia Seltos rivals the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier.

Various other offerings in the segment like MG Hector and Hyundai Creta already boast of a panoramic unit in the form of sunroof. Even the MG Astor comes with a large panoramic sunroof which stretches all the way to the rear of the SUV. The China-spec Kia Seltos is already available with this feature. We expect the top-end variants of the SUV to come with a panoramic sunroof while the base and mid variants could continue with a single pane unit. Other notable cosmetic updates could include a tweaked front fascia, newly designed alloy wheels and a few new colors. It has also been learnt that Kia might equip the 2022 Seltos facelift with sensor-based ADAS tech and features.

Mechanically, the 2022 Kia Seltos facelift will be powered by the same petrol and diesel engines which are a 1.5L naturally aspirated unit, a 1.5L turbocharged diesel unit and a 1.4L turbo petrol unit. The transmission choices are also expected to be retained from the ongoing model. Being Kia's first ever product in the Indian market, the Seltos is locally manufactured at Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh while exported to multiple right-hand-drive markets. It has been a roaring success for the brand as the waiting period on certain variants is still fairly high in several cities. The 2022 Kia Seltos facelift price could see a hike around Rs 50,000-75,000 depending on the variants as compared to the present SUV.
