Kia Motors accomplishes the milestone with just two products in its portfolio

Kia Motors India recently accomplished a milestone of 1 lakh cumulative sales in the Indian market. By doing this, the company became the fastest automaker in the country to achieve this figure in such a short time. Furthermore, the South Korean company made its debut in the Indian market with the launch of its first SUV, Kia Seltos last year. Despite huge competition, Kia has been able to reach this milestone in just 11 months.

The brand currently has three products in its India lineup namely Kia Seltos SUV, Kia Carnival MPV, and the upcoming Kia Sonet. The company’s first car Seltos was launched in August last year. With the launch of Seltos, Kia entered the highly-competitive Compact SUV segment in the Indian market. It has registered sales figures of 97,745 for Seltos and 3,614 for Carnival.

“2019 marked an important year for Kia as we introduced our first car for the Indian market with an aim to become a household name in the country. We are overwhelmed with the response and acceptance that Indian customers have shown towards us. Reaching the one lakh milestone with just two products, in a record eleven-month time, is a testament to our commitment to India. Today marks a proud moment for all of us at Kia Motors India and after the immense success of Seltos and Carnival, we are confident to keep up the positive momentum and lead the Indian automobile industry by addressing the unmet needs and aspirations of the customers with the upcoming Kia Sonet.,” commented Kookhyun Shim, MD and CEO, Kia Motors India at the time of the announcement.

Currently, Kia Motors is gearing up for the World Premiere of its upcoming small SUV, Sonet on August 7, 2020. The All-New Kia Sonet is likely to fall in the price bracket of Rs 7 lakhs - Rs 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, and Tata Nexon in its segment.

Kia Motors India has been successful in delivering seamless customer experience besides best-in-class product quality. Along with the addition of new customers to the Kia family, the company has also been taking care of the safety and wellness of its existing customers via its ‘Kia Care’ campaign. Apart from this, in the month of June, the manufacturer also launched the updated version of the Seltos that came loaded with 10 compelling new additions along with 50+ UVO connected car features.
