  • The Kia EV6 will be limited to 100 units only
  • The all-electric crossover to come with two charging options

Kia Motor is all set to launch its all-electric crossover EV6 on June 2 in the country. Having said that, the automaker will be commencing the bookings from tomorrow onwards. The vehicle will be limited to 100 units only. The reason is the huge global demand for vehicle and supply chain constraints. It is further based on Hyundai Group’s E-GMP architecture. Once launched in the Indian market, the EV6 will rival the likes of Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV.

A few days back, the official brochure of the Kia EV6 has leaked online ahead of the launch. The leaked image of the brochure gave us a fair idea about a few features of the electric crossover. Having said that, the upcoming EV6 will be offered in five colour options namely Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Moonscape, Yacht Blue, and Runway Red. In terms of diameter, the vehicle measures 4695mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1550mm in height.

Kia will equip its all-electric crossover EV6 with a plethora of features like a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 19-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, 64 Color ambient mood lighting, 10-way adjustable front seats, Black suede seats with vegan leather bolsters,  a 12.3-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system, Kia Connect, 60+ Connected Car Features, and dual-zone automatic climate control to name a few. The detailed feature list will be unveiled during the price announcement.

Performance-wise, Kia EV6 in the global market is equipped with two powertrain options namely 58kWh and 77.4kWh. Both battery packs are offered in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) layouts. However, we can expect the India-spec EV6 to get a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery only. Furthermore, the electric crossover is likely to be offered in both single motor rear-wheel-drive and dual motors all-wheel-drive variants. The former will churn out a top power of 225 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. While the latter will generate 321 bhp power and 605 Nm torque. The battery is capable of returning a range of 528 kms (WLTP Cycle). Besides these, the upcoming EV6 is expected to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a mere 3.5 seconds.

Talking about the charging options, the EV6 can be fast-charged from 0-80 percent in just 18 minutes with the help of a 350 kW fast charger. While it can be charged up to 80 percent in 73 minutes with the help of a conventional 50 kW charger.
