The leading two-wheeler giant Kawasaki has unveiled the much-awaited KLX 230 motorcycle in India after teasing this bike for months. The all-new KLX 230 is a twin-purpose off-roading bike. Interested customers can reserve the KLX 230 motorcycle by paying a token amount of INR 5,000. The brand has announced that deliveries for the new bike are scheduled to start in January next year, while its price announcement is slated for December 2024.
The Kawasaki KLX 230 model is the first dual-sport road-legal bike to be launched in India. Since Kawasaki is locally manufacturing the KLX 230 sport bike in India, its price is probably going to be competitive. The all-new KLX 230 will directly compete with the KTM Adventure 250 and the Hero Xpulse 200 4V.

The two-wheeler giant is offering a range of accessories with the new KLX 230. These accessories include a rear rack, hand guard set, USB Type-C port, skid plate, engine protector, frame covers, lowered seat, and comfortable handlebar. The bike sports a classic twin-purpose design and a slender and high stature.

The Kawasaki KLX 230 motorcycle features a one-piece long seat, large wire-spoke wheels, and long suspension travel. The road-legal motorcycle has standard features such as an LED headlight, rear-view mirrors, turn indicators, dual-purpose tyres, and a saree guard. It houses a digital instrument LCD panel that features a fuel gauge, odometer, speedometer, clock, dual trip meters, Bluetooth indicator, and smartphone call and mail.
The motorcycle’s battery voltage, vehicle running information, and riding log, including GPS route, can be seen via mobile phone. In addition, with the Rideology app, one can connect with other riders. The bike also receives a maintenance log wherein users can check information like history of refueling, oil changes, lubrication, periodic inspections, and consumable parts replacement.

Now regarding the powertrain, the Kawasaki KLX 230 draws power from an air-cooled 4-stroke 233-cc single-cylinder engine, which delivers power of 19.73 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 20.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission.
The KLX 230 comes fitted with a high-tensile steel perimeter frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by 37mm telescopic forks at the front, along with 240mm of long wheel and a preload-adjustable monoshock followed by 250mm travel. Stopping power comes from the disc brakes at both ends, complemented by dual-channel ABS.
