2021 Jeep Compass Facelift version has finally made its debut at the 18th Guangzhou Auto Show in China. After much wait, the SUV gets a mid-cycle update with cosmetic tweaks  to the interior and exterior with no powertrains changes. India-spec Compass SUV would be similar to the one unveiled in China in terms of design, features and engine options. Jeep Compass was due for an update considering that the SUV segment in India is getting quite competitive with new entrants like the Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq, New Hyundai Tucson and upcoming New-Gen Mahindra XUV 500. The Compass Facelift has been spotted multiple times testing on India road with expectations of launch in the first quarter of 2021. Talking about the expected Jeep Compass Facelift price, it could start from Rs 17 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. Considering the features and design updates, the facelifted model would be at a premium of Rs 50,000 to the current model on sale in India.

Talking about the SUV, it sports a seven-slate grille with honeycomb-like chrome inserts surrounded by new LED headlamps and LED DRLs. Other design updates include a redesigned front bumper, plastic cladding, square-shaped wheel arches, LED taillights, new alloy wheel design and many more. Dimensions wise, its length and height have been  increased by 29mm and 17mm respectively. The wheelbase on the other hand remains unchanged at 2636mm.

The American automaker has revamped the interior of this SUV with a new dual-tone dashboard that provides grey leather upholstery. Additional to this, the cabin boasts of a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice control. Further, the India-spec facelift would be equipped with features like a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, keyless start and stop function.

Mechanically, the four-wheeler will remain the same as before. The engines existing line-up of 2.0-litre multi-jet diesel and 1.4-litre multi-air petrol units will roll over to the upcoming facelift. The diesel and petrol powerplants belts out 170 bhp and 160 bhp of maximum power output. Transmission options available here will be a 6-speed manual gearbox with optional 7-speed DCT and a 9-speed torque converter. There have been unconfirmed reports of an all-new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission making its way to the facelift model in the Indian market.

Besides this, the Trailhawk variant of Compass was also showcased indicating it could also arrive here in the domestic market by next year. The off-roading focused model comes with exterior styling updates like all-black honeycomb grille design, Trailhawk badge in the front and rear fenders, heightened ground clearance and black/red decal on the bonnet. It will also ride on a new set of alloy wheels.
