  • The bikes flaunt Indian Army insignia flanked by a ‘laurel wreath’
  • Jawa is the first OEM to be allowed to do so on a production motorcycle
  • Both the special edition bikes are only offered with the dual ABS version

Jawa Motorcycles has launched the Jawa Khakhi and Jawa Midnight Grey special editions at a sticker price of Rs 1.93 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. Continuing its #ForeverHeroes initiative, both the motorcycles have been introduced to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1971 war victory. Jawa Khakhi and Midnight Grey will take part in various celebratory rides with the Indian Army to mark important landmark occasions like Kargil Vijay Diwas, Battle of Turtuk and Battle of Longewala.

On one hand, the Jawa Khakhi signifies the spirit of selfless service to the nation by the men in uniform while the Jawa Midnight Grey is inspired by the Battle of Longewala, fought in the western frontier along Rajasthan border. Both the Jawa bikes come with a matte finish along with an all-black theme that runs across the mechanical parts. In addition, the duo gets brushed fins with the engine while the fuel tank boasts of the 1971 War Victory commemorative insignia alongside tricolour stripes. The wheel size is identical to the regular model but the rims have been finished in black color to compliment the overall black theme. Jawa Khakhi and Jawa Midnight Grey will only be offered with the dual ABS version.

The motorcycles retain most of the features of the standard version such as enhanced seat with cushioning, retuned suspension & frame set-up, retuned exhaust note and trip meter. The duo is powered by the same 293cc liquid cooled and fuel injected engine which develops top power of 27 bhp and peak torque of 27.02 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Just so you know, it is the first single cylinder engine to utilize cross port technology which increases the volumetric efficiency of the engine. The engine also features a repositioned lambda sensor that monitors internal and external variables even more efficiently to give a consistent performance and cleaner emissions regardless of any road condition.
