Pricing is expected to start from Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom), India as it will compete against Mercedes Benz EQC in the Indian market.

The launch date of the much-awaited Jaguar I-PACE is out. The all-electric SUV from the British automaker will be launched on the 9th of March 2021 in the country. Bookings for the vehicle were opened last year for the Indian buyers. I-PACE is the first electric four-wheeler from the Jaguar brand to arrive in India. The launch will be taking place digitally and will be open to members of the media, customers, fans, and enthusiasts of the brand. The electric SUV will be sold in 3 variants namely S, SE and HSE. It will come with a single powertrain option of EV400. It is the first car to ever win three renowned accolades such as the 2019 - World Car of The Year, World Green Car of The Year and World Car Design of The Year. Its pricing is expected to start from Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom), India, as it will compete against Mercedes Benz EQC in the Indian market. 


I-PACE flaunts signature Jaguar design elements like sharp LED headlamps, sloping bonnet as well as a huge front grille. The sloping roofline lends a distinctive appearance. As for the interior, the buyer can look forward to a spacious and luxurious cabin. It provides features like a premium 380-Watt Meridian sound system, electrically adjustable luxtec sport seats, 3D surround camera, interactive driver display, adaptive cruise control among many others. 


The Jaguar I-PACE is powered by two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors placed on the front and rear axle. The SUV will deliver a massive 394 bhp of maximum power output and 696 of peak torque. The motors send power to all the four wheels via an AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system. The electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds with the manufacturer claiming a range of 480 kms. The SUV houses a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery pack which will take just 45 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent in case one uses a 100-kW rapid charger. On the other hand, a 7 kW AC wall box charger will take around 10 hours for a full charge.
