Indian FTR Carbon teased on the company’s youtube channel; teaser video reveals a carbon fibre fuel tank.

Indian Motorcycles has released a short video teasing the launch of a new model, a carbon-fibre clad FTR1200. The company is all set to globally unveil the motorcycle tomorrow.

According to the teaser video, the FTR 1200 Carbon draws inspiration from FTR 750. The Indian FTR 750 has proved to be a perfect flat tracker and has won various races for the American motorcycle company. Not very many details have been revealed about the upcoming Indian FTR Carbon in the teaser video. However, it does show the motorcycle's carbon-fibre fuel tank. The motorbike is likely to get more carbon-fibre treatment, but that can only be confirmed once it is globally revealed tomorrow.

As per the mechanical updates, it is still not sure whether the motorcycle will get more power or continue to churn out 120bhp @ 8250rpm and a peak torque of 115Nm @ 6000rpm from the same 1203cc V-Twin engine. With the FTR 1200, Indian Motorcycle, the cruiser brand, entered a new segment in the motorcycle industry. The standard Indian FTR 1200 S and FTR 1200 S Race Replica were on sale in India last year. However, they failed to attract buyers in the country, thus leading to a decline in sales numbers. The Flat 1200S was priced at Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) while the Race Replica was priced a bit higher at Rs 17.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) up until last year. India is unlikely to get the FTR Carbon due to less demand. If it does make its way, then it will replace the Race Replica as the flagship FTR 1200 and will demand an equally premium price tag.
