Currently, the BMW 3 Series rival the likes of the recently introduced Mercedes Benz C-Class. We can expect the facelift version of the 3 Series to land on our shores either by the end of this year or by early next year.
Design-wise, the refreshed BMW 3 Series gets a few tweaks. The luxury sedan now comes with a wider kidney grille upfront. In addition, the vehicle gets a new pair of headlamps with an L-shaped DRL and gloss black brake cooling vents. The rear end of the car boasts of slim L-shaped LED taillights, reshaped bumpers, and a dual-exhaust setup with each exhaust positioned at one end of the bumper. Talking about the M Sport car, it offers a hexagonal lower air intake in the bumper upfront and a chunky diffuser at the rear end. The customers get a choice of a new M-Performance exterior package. Having said that, the package includes a large rear spoiler, a carbon-fibre rear diffuser, and bespoke wheel designs of upto 20 inches in diameter.
The cabin of the BMW 3 Series facelift gets an upgrade as well. These include a new curved instrument panel that houses a 14.9-inch infotainment screen with BMW’s latest eighth-generation iDrive interface and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The major highlight of the cabin is the iDrive system that now runs on the OS8 and further incorporates voice commands, a smartphone-style appearance, and 5G connectivity for up to 10 devices. Furthermore, the other changes include repositioned climate control functions, slimmer AC vents, and a relocated shift selector with a smaller toggle lever.
Performance-wise, the India-bound BMW 3 Series facelift gets the same powertrain options as the outgoing model. The base trim 330i gets the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit that generates a top power of 254 bhp. The motor in the 330e, on the other hand, comes paired with an electric motor that dishes out 287 bhp power. While the M340i draws power from a turbocharged 3.0-litre I6 motor that churns out 381 bhp power. Both, the 330e and the M340i trims come equipped with the BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
