2021 Hyundai Starex MPV

The all-new 2021 Hyundai Starex MPV has been spotted as a test mule for the first time with camouflage. Recently, it was speculated that the Kia Carnival & Toyota Innova Crysta rival will also be launched in the Indian market by mid of 2021 but seeing the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, it is expected to be delayed by at least 6-8 months for sure. The Starex MPV was first launched in 2007 and the current-gen model has completed its life cycle, so the company has started testing the new-gen model to replace the ageing model.

Going by the spy-shots, the 2021 Hyundai H-1 (codenamed) flaunts a massive radiator front grille which covers the whole width. It is complemented by a split setup of LED headlamps. The silhouette is more contemporary which makes it different than the existing boxy van design. If looked upon from sideways, the front fascia appears a bit curvy which makes it even more desirable and appealing. The belt line also sees a drop which creates yet another curve in the sides and ensures a large greenhouse to provide the driver a better view of the outside. There is no image of the interior cabin so we cannot say if it will be retained from the current model or it would be an all-new one with new features.

The current-gen Hyundai Starex comes with a lot of premium features such as projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, power sliding rear doors, double swing rear door, 360-degree camera, freestanding 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay among others. It is offered in various forms: wagon, window van, panel van, camper, school bus and ambulance. The engine options available with the MPV are a 2.4L 4-cylinder MPi petrol engine with 172bhp, 2.5L 4-cylinder TCi diesel engine with 98bhp and a 2.5L 4-cylinder CRDi WGT diesel engine with 134bhp. Last but not the least, it can also be availed with a 2.5L 4-cylinder CRDi VGT diesel engine which generates power in two trims: 167bhp and 172bhp.
