Hyundai releases teaser video of upcoming compact SUV Venue.

Hyundai’s launch of Venue in India will mark the entry of the brand to the already option-filled sub-4 meter compact SUV segment. The South Korean maker has announced that it will reveal the upcoming sub-4 meter compact SUV at the New York Motor Show on 17 April, 2019 and the launch there will be simulcast in India as well marking the sub-compact SUV Venue’s debut in India. Ahead of the launch, the brand has revealed a teaser that gives the fans a glimpse of the SUV and also reveals the idea about the design of the upcoming Venue.

The teaser shows that the upcoming sub-4 meter compact SUV Venue will kind of resemble a smaller version of Hyundai mini as far as the design profile in concerned. However, the front and rear will feature enough changes so as to distinguish it from the compact SUV Creta. Hyundai Venue will come with front wheel drive as standard and no all-wheel drive even as an option. What the company has lost on time, it hopes to make up on the features front, as it always has, and is angling the SUV as India’s first connected SUV.

It was expected that the South Korean brand will load the upcoming SUV with a lot of features and the leaks show the same as there is a big screen mounted on the dashboard and a steering with a lot of function button that seems to have been borrowed from Creta. There is round display that has air-con and temperature display as well as control for the climate and temperature. There maybe a wireless charger on offer as well since there is a vacant space in front of gear lever. The company says that Venue’s ‘Smart Connect SUV’ tag will arm it with 33 features and among these, 10 have been developed especially for India and it will feature the brand’s ‘BlueLink Connected Technology’.

Hyundai’s India division’s senior general manager for marketing Puneet Anand talked about the upcoming Venue and started,

“We are extremely delighted to share that the Blue Link Connectivity Solutions will debut in the Hyundai VENUE, making it India’s first Smart Connected SUV. The Blue Link Connectivity will be the most practical, concrete and convenient technology available in the Indian market to make the customers life easy. We have undertaken all the measures across all our touch points to ensure that our customers can get a firsthand experience of the Blue Link Connectivity. Our team of Blue Link Wizards & trained sales consultants will make the technology truly accessible to all our customers. The connected car technology is built on the theme of – Your Connected Friend On The Go and will help us realize our vision of becoming Lifetime Partners in Automobile and Beyond.”

Hyundai may equip the Venue with the newly developed 1L turbo petrol engine rated for 110 Bhp-170 Nm. Whereas, the diesel mill could be the 1.4L engine borrowed from Elite i20 and Creta likely to be in the state of tune of around 89 Bhp and 220 Nm. As far as gearbox is concerned the leaks also revealed that the upcoming Venue will come with a dual-clutch transmission, a first for the segment.
