Leaked images of Hundai Venue doing test run on the roads.

South Korean carmaker Hyundai has stated that their upcoming sub-4 meter compact SUV will be officially known as Venue in India. The concept version of upcoming Hyundai Venue was first revealed at the 2016 Auto Expo in India as the Carlino Concept. Hyundai will officially present the production version of their sub-4 meter offering at the New York Motor Show in a few days. Now a few pictures of the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV have leaked on the internet. The leak presents some pictures of parts of front and rear as well as alloy wheels and interior of Venue.

In the leaked pictures, the front of the Venue looks like the Kona SUV which is in line with the new design aesthetic of the South Korean brand. Hyundai’s signature cascading grille is present here and there is chrome work on the grille as well. As is the trend with cars lately, the upcoming Hyundai Venue also has its LED DRLs in an extended enclosure in the front grille and the headlamps are squarish in design and located below the DRLs.

The test mules have already given us a fair idea that the Hyundai Venue will have a silhouette very similar to the larger Creta SUV. As already mentioned the leaked photos show precision cut dual-tone alloy wheels on the Venue SUV. The rear photos show that the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV will come with single-unit tail lamps reminiscent of Volkswagen Polo. The tail gate has a Hyundai logo and underneath it sits the Venue branding, also are present the SX and Turbo badges that show the trim and performance oriented variant of the upcoming car.

It was expected that the South Korean brand will load the upcoming SUV with a lot of features and the leaks show the same as there is a big screen mounted on the dashboard and a steering with a lot of function button that seems to have been borrowed from Creta. There is round display that has air-con and temperature display as well as control for the climate and temperature. There maybe a wireless charger on offer as well since there is a vacant space in front of gear lever.

The company says that Venue’s ‘Smart Connect SUV’ tag will arm it with 33 features and among these, 10 have been developed especially for India. The voice recognition program in the upcoming SUV will recognize Indian accent and will be able to control media, calls, and navigation among others. The South Korean maker has also joined hands with recently formed Vodafone-Idea to equip the upcoming Venue with an onboard e-SIM to facilitate cloud-based services.

Hyundai may equip the Venue with the newly developed 1L turbo petrol engine rated for 110 Bhp-170 Nm. Whereas, the diesel mill could be the 1.4L engine borrowed from Elite i20 and Creta likely to be in the state of tune of around 89 Bhp and 220 Nm.
