Hyundai Venue Outsells Rivals; 7 Reasons Why

We had recently informed you that Venue, the latest sub-4 metre compact SUV from the South Korean maker Hyundai has gone ahead and left erstwhile segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza behind in sales. Perched at top, the sales of Hyundai Venue seem to be climbing even though it has been some time since the vehicle was launched in the Indian market. This leads one to ponder as to what makes the Hyundai Venue such a viable option in the segment? Therefore, today we take a look at the reasons why customers are choosing the Venue sub-4 metre compact SUV over other options in the market.

Looks

First impressions do matter and Hyundai Venue scores massively over other rivals in the segment when it comes to first impressions. The waterfall grille at the front with chrome work on the grille lending a distinct identity to the South Korean maker’s SUV. The headlamps are placed below the turn indicators here, a design trend that is growing increasingly common in the industry. The LED DRLs in the Venue enclose the headlamps of the car and are placed in the lower part of the bumper. This lends the car a very futuristic look, and will make sure that the SUV remains an attractive option in the segment for the coming times.

Engine and Transmission

The South Korean maker is offering a lot of options in the engine and gearbox department with the Venue which ensures that the SUV has something for everyone in the market. The first among three engine options is 1L 3 cylinder turbo petrol (120 PS and 175 Nm)this new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. Then comes the 1.2L petrol engine rated for 82 PS and 114 Nm and it is mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. The third one is a 1.4L turbo diesel engine rated for 90 PS and 220 Nm and mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The advanced dual clutch gearbox option distinguishes the Venue in segment and not to mention that cleaner petrol options only add icing on the cake in the segment.

Performance

As already mentioned, the South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine with Venue. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. This engine is by far the most powerful among the options of the SUV and as per the brand the 7-speed dual clutch transmission option of the turbo petrol unit can propel the SUV to a top speed of 187 kmph, which is very fast for a car in the segment. The 120 PS and 172 Nm of the turbo petrol engine can take the SUV from 0-60 kmph in just 5.1 seconds! The smoothness of DCT and the power of turbo petrol makes Venue a unique performer in the segment.

Connected Features

Yet another unique proposition for the segment, Venue comes with a connected infotainment system. The connected feature of the SUV arms it with 33 features out of which 10 are India specific. The BlueLink technology in the Venue offers remote start, headlamp control, AC, windows and horn control. Other features include emergency assist, real time traffic alert, remote car immobilizer, car tracker, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other Features

As far as the comfort features are concerned, Hyundai has left no stone unturned here as well with the Venue getting electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charging, voice recognition, Arkamys stereo system, rear AC vents, and cornering lamps among other.

Affordability

Although loaded with features, the South Korean maker has managed to price the Venue variants in a manner where every customer has something to choose from. The base petrol model of the Venue starts at Rs. 6.53 lakh, this is the 1.2L petrol unit model. The 1L turbo petrol unit’s base model comes in at Rs. 8.21 lakhs. While the automatic range of the Venue starts at Rs. 9.35 lakh and is available with the same 1L turbo petrol engine. If the customers wish to choose a diesel model, then the base diesel model starts at Rs. 7.75 lakh. Not just the pricing, but even the mileage of the Venue will put a smile on owner’s faces with the highest mileage of the diesel variant of Venue being 23.7 kmpl!

Hyundai Factor

The widespread network of Hyundai dealerships and service centres means that authorised assistance for customers is just a short drive away. Hyundai Venue also has a standard warranty of 3 years and unlimited kilometres on it and it can be extended for 5 years as well. Not just warranty, but in the first three years of ownership, the customer also gets free RSA and e-SIM functionality. Lastly, the resale value of a Hyundai is also good in Indian market, this ensures the customers a peace of mind experience.
