But the company expects sales of the petrol variants to pick up in the immediate future with buyer preferences changing.
The company is also going to bring in a locally assembled CVT gearbox for the petrol Elite i20 range. The car uses an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol motor while the diesel variants are powered by a 90hp, 1.4-litre engine. There are two new colours on sale as well - Fiery Red and Passion Orange.
