Hyundai India has announced the monthly sales for June 2020 in the country. The company sold a total of 21320 units in the Indian market last month. It exported around 5500 vehicles to several markets in the Middle East, South Africa and Latin America. So, the South-Korean automaker had a cumulative sales of 26820 units in the month of June 2020 in the Indian market. If we compare the June 2020 sales to the same month last year, then there is a drop of 50 percent however if compared with May 2020 when Hyundai managed to sell just 6883 units, then there is a jump of 209 percent.
Commenting on the June sales performance, Mr. Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Limited said, “As a responsible and caring brand, Hyundai Motor India is committed to support country’s objective of reviving the economy at the earliest. Our newly launched products like All New CRETA, Spirited New VERNA, All New AURA as well as traditionally strong brands like ELITE i20, VENUE, SANTRO and GRAND i10 NIOS have been receiving encouraging customer response. This has helped us achieve a wholesale volume of 21 320 units in the domestic market for June 2020. Additionally, we have exported 5500 units showcasing HMIL’s commitment to Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision for the world markets.”
Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Venue - the two SUVs - spearheaded the company's sales growth in June 2020. The new-gen Hyundai Creta, launched on March 16, has already notched up over 30,000 bookings while it was India's best-selling passenger vehicle in May 2020. On the other hand, the Venue too has been shattering record after record since its launch last year in the Indian market. Just a few days back, it crossed the sales milestone of 1 Lakh units in the country within a year of its introduction. In addition, the Grand i10, Elite i20 and 2020 Verna facelift have been making decent sales progress for Hyundai in their respective segments and we will see the sales numbers go up even further this month.
