Hyundai India has donated these essentials to the Governments of Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Hyundai India has extended support to the Governments of Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in their fight against the Corona Virus outbreak. The company has distributed PPE Kits, Masks (3-Ply & N-95), Sanitizers and Dry Rations worth more than Rs 9 Crore. The South Korean automaker has also donated Incinerators to Hospitals in Tamil Nadu for safe disposal of medical waste. Hyundai had earlier made contributions of Rs 7 Crores and Rs 5 Crores to PM CARES Relief Fund and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund, respectively.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. SS Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Being a longstanding partner in India’s growth over two decades, we stand united with the Government of India through these trying times and offer assurance of our utmost commitment. In the battle against COVID-19, our initiatives are aimed at lending support to our frontline champions, medical staff, support workers and those sections of society that have been severely impacted by this crisis.” The company handed over Imported COVID-19 Advanced Diagnostic Test Kits worth Rs 4 Crores to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It entered into a strategic partnership with Air Liquide Medical Systems to augment production and supply of ventilators.

Hyundai has been actively supporting various state governments in fighting the COVID-19 crisis by introducing a slew of initiatives. It has donated nearly 17000 PPE Kits to Governments of Delhi, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. The company has also made donation of approximately 2 Million Masks (3-Ply & N-95) and Over 1.5 Lakh Sanitizer Kits while also distributing over 6000 Dry Ration Kits to impoverished sections of society. The entire country has been under strict lockdown since March 25 and hence the production has been suspended by almost every automaker at their respective plants. The nationwide lockdown is expected to be lifted on May 3 and we can expect some activity in the auto sector.
