Hyundai Grand i10’s 3rd Generation Model To Launch on August 20?

Hyundai Grand i10 has been getting long in the tooth for quite sometime now, and with the advent of the model update of Maruti Swift last year, the hatch from the South Korean maker has started facing even stiffer rivalry. Therefore, the brand has been working on the model update of the hatchback since a long time. The next generation i10 has also been spied multiple times during testing and now there are reports that the maker is gearing up to launch the next gen model of Grand i10 as early as 20th August. Just like the second generation model, the latest model of i10 will also be revealed in India first and then for the rest of the world. This is a significant move by the company as the small hatchback will be unveiled in India even before the home market of the company.

Like the last time, this time around too, the company will focus on emphasising the rear seat space of the Grand i10, and there are hopes that the wheelbase of the upcoming hatchback will also be enhanced. However, the overall length of the next gen Grand i10 will remain the same with chances of increase in the headroom at the rear. The exteriors of the Grand i10 will also receive a major overhaul as the upcoming model is the 3rd gen model of i10. The new Grand i10 will be based on the Venue’s platform. The exterior design changes on the Grand i10 are likely to include new cascading grille, projector fog lamps, swept-back headlamps, bigger window area, roof rails and stylish new alloy wheels among others.

The interiors of the new Grand i10 will also get significant updates and as has always been the case with South Korean maker Hyundai, one can expect a bevy of updates and new features on the third generation model of the Grand i10. The upcoming model will also comply with the stricter safety norms that will come into force from October 1, 2019.

As far as the mechanicals are concerned, there are rumours that the brand may add a new petrol engine and a DCT gearbox option on the new model of the car while still maintaining the current offerings in engine and gearbox department. There are also hopes that Hyundai may bring BS-VI ready engines to the latest generation model of the Grand i10. The deliveries of the new generation model of i10 are also expected to commence right when the car is launched in the Indian market.
