10 Things to know : The 2020 Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos comparison.

Update: We have just came to know that the 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta has crossed 12,000 bookings and today the first unit of the SUV was rolled out from the Chennai production facility. The new SUV will be launched in the next couple of days while its variants and features have already been leaked online. It will be introduced in five trim levels: E, EX, S, SX, and SX (O). There will be a total of three engine options for Creta borrowed from the Seltos. All-New Hyundai Creta gives 16.9 kmpl mileage with 1.5L MPI petrol engine, 21.4 kmpl mileage with 1.5L U2 Cardi diesel engine and 16.8 kmpl mileage with 1.4L T-GDI petrol engine. Base Variant begins at an introductory price of Rs 9.99 Lakhs. 

The second-gen Hyundai Creta gets a more premium look with updated engines and a ground-up redesign inside-out. On the other hand, the mid-sized SUV, Kia Seltos enters the market with a plethora of advanced features. The all-new Hyundai Creta is powered by a 1.5L diesel engine borrowed from the Seltos. It offers 115 bhp of top power with 250 Nm of peak torque whereas on the other end Kia also offers the Seltos with a 1.4L turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 140 bhp max power and 242 Nm highest torque. 

The Creta is available with a 6-speed manual and automatic as an option while Seltos is available with the 6-speed manual with an option of 7-speed DCT auto gearbox too.

The next-gen Creta features Hyundai’s “sensuous sportiness” design statement as it comes with a plethora of new features that include a split-headlamp design with C-shaped LED DRLs along with the manufacturer’s cascading grille. On the other end, the front fascia of Seltos looks chunky with Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille and a high bonnet line. It also features massive headlamps along with the turn indicators separated into a different unit.

The Kia Seltos features a dual-tone black & white interior or an all-black theme in the case of GT-Variant. Inside the cabin, it comes with a host of features that include contrast red stitching on the flat-bottom steering wheel with metal finished pedals, and GT badging. On the other hand, the 2020 Creta features a large vertically-stacked touchscreen system that is connected to the central console alongside an all-new flat-bottomed steering wheel.

Other premium features in the Seltos include a 7-inch multi-info display that displays the video feed from the ORVM mounted cameras while changing lanes. The cabin also flaunts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Talking about the all-new Creta, it features a vertical 10.4 -inch touchscreen system. 

The Kia Seltos also features an air purifier, LED ambient lighting and wireless fast charging while the Creta, on the other hand, features a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The upcoming Creta features the BlueLink connectivity similar to one present in the Venue whereas, on the other hand, Kia Seltos features UVO connected car-tech.

Both the SUVs have a marginal dimensional difference. The Hyundai Creta measures a length of 4,300 mm, a width of 1,790 mm, height of 1,622 mm and an identical 2,610 mm long wheelbase while the Kia Seltos measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, is 1,620 mm tall and has a 2,610 mm long wheelbase.

The Kia Seltos has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom) that goes up to Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the all-new Creta, on the other hand, is expected to be priced between Rs. 10 Lakhs to Rs 17 Lakhs (ex-showroom)

The all-new Creta diesel-powered by 1396cc and 1582cc engine claims a mileage of 22.1kmpl (As per ARAI). While the Kia Seltos claims a mileage of 16.1kmpl to 20kmpl (As per ARAI)
