Hyundai Creta 7-seater has been spied testing for the first time in the Indian market. The company had been working on the 7-seater Creta for more than a year now and it has been spotted previously as a test mule in several global markets. It will be longer in length than the standard 5-seater version which has been on sale in India for more than five years now. Hyundai Creta 7-seater will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Tata Gravitas and Kia Seltos 7-seater in the country.
Going by the Hyundai Creta 7-seater spy images, it can be said that the SUV is fairly similar to the regular 5-seater SUV till the C-pillar. The company has extended the length after the C-pillars to accommodate the extra third row of seats. The rear profile flaunts a new design with the tail-lamp cluster having an unique never-seen-before appearance. The front fascia also gets a few tweaks as the grille is entirely different than the 5-seater version. The headlamp units, though, have been retained from the standard model. Other styling elements visible through naked eyes are front parking sensors, roof rails and dual exhaust pipes. The cabin is expected to be identical to its 5-seater sibling.
It is not yet known that what would be the name of Hyundai Creta 7-seater as the company has not made any announcement regarding it. Mechanically, the SUV is expected to carry the same engine options as the 5-seater version which will include the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L diesel and the 1.4L turbocharged petrol units. The transmission choices are also believed to be similar in the form of a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, CVT automatic and a 7-speed DCT automatic. Though, the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit will be exclusive with the 1.4L turbo petrol engine. Hyundai Creta 7-seater price would start at around Rs 13 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
