Hyundai India has been working on a 7-seater version of Creta for quite some time and now the first images of the all-new SUV are out. The Hyundai Creta 7-seater has been spotted testing with camouflage in South Korea and it is expected to debut by the end of 2020. The 7-seater SUV will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and the yet-to-be-launched Tata Gravitas, which is also a 7-seater version of Tata Harrier. It could start at an introductory price of around Rs 11-12 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while having a set of cosmetic changes as compared to the standard version of Creta.
If we talk about the subtle cosmetic updates that the 7-seater SUV carries in order to differentiate itself from the standard 5-seater version, we see a new radiator front grille with chrome finishing. It also gets front parking sensors which are not available with the 5-seater version. As for the side profile, the spied SUV rides on 17-inch silver-colored alloy wheels which we have also seen with the recently launched 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta. In addition, it boasts of a unique silver-coloured side sill while the beltline too doesn't have that kick at the rear. The roofline is rather flat than having curves alongside the newly designed roof rails. The C-pillar is leaner and comes with a quarter glass for the outside viewing of third row occupants.
The cabin will be carried over from the current 5-seater version of Creta with almost identical features. Though, the third row won't have as much legroom as the other two rows and adults might feel cramped a bit over there. The boot space will also be lesser than the 5-seater Creta due to the third row of seating. The standard Hyundai Creta has a boot capacity of 433 litres while the 7-seater model will have it around 300-350 litres. Mechanically, it can be expected to come in the same powertrain-transmission combinations as the standard Creta. The Hyundai Creta variants can also be the same with the local production kicking off at the company's Chennai production facility by the end of 2020.
