The much-awaited sub-compact sedan from Hyundai Motor India is finally here. The Korean automaker today announced the prices of Hyundai Aura which start at Rs 5,79,900 going all the way up to Rs 9,22,700 (ex-showroom) India.

Competing against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Vento and Tata Tigor; Hyundai Aura will sell alongside its current sibling Hyundai Xcent. Similar to the case with Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Aura will be a more premium version of the sub-compact sedan in comparison to Xcent.

Hyundai Aura, therefore, has quite a few similarities with that of Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS. Bringing it all together is a muscular hood which along with projector headlamps and fog lights add character to this subcompact sedan. With sharp lines being given to the side profile, Hyundai Aura features 15 inch Diamond Cut Alloy wheels with a blacked-out C-pillars. Talking about the rear, it gets a wedged tailgate that provides Z-shaped LED tail lights alongside a carved bumper comprising of reflector inserts. The chrome strip further adds substance to the overall design of the vehicle.

As for the interior, Hyundai Aura has a dual-tone cabin. The dashboard, in particular, is in a combination of black and beige with a Satin Bronze Crash Pad thrown in for premium appeal. To further strengthen its case, the Aura provides dual-tone grey fabric seats alongside sporty black ones for the 1.0-litre Turbo variant. Equipped with modern technology, this particular sedan offers features like wireless charging, 13.46cm digital speedometer with multi-information display, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, cruise control, driver rearview monitor, a USB port among many others.

Hyundai Aura comes equipped with BSVI compliant petrol and diesel engines. The petrol line-up of Aura comprises of a 1.2-litre engine which is good for making 83 bhp and comes compatible with both manual and AMT transmissions. In addition to this, the company for the first time is also offering a 1.0 litre Turbo Charged unit like the one seen on Hyundai Venue. This particular powertrain produces 100 bhp and comes fitted with only a manual gear stick. While the diesel, on the other hand, is a 1.2-litre unit producing 75 bhp alongside a manual and an AMT gearbox. There is also a CNG version on offer in Hyundai Aura.

Mileage for Hyundai Aura 1.2 Kappa petrol stands at 20.50 kmpl for the manual transmission while the AMT of the same model provides 20.10 kmpl. The Hyundai Aura 1.2 litre ECO TORQ delivers 25.35 kmpl of mileage for the manual version while the AMT returns 25.40 kmpl. Newly introduced Hyundai Aura 1.0 Turbo GDI unit stands to provide 20.50 kmpl mileage for its manual version. Note all these figures mentioned herein are ARAI Certified.

Safety features on-board Hyundai Aura comprise of driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX, central locking, speed alert system among others.

Body colours available on Hyundai Aura include newly introduced Vintage Brown, Alpha Blue, Fiery Red, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver and Polar White. Hyundai is also offering special customisation options via the Turbo Pack that covers colour like Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver and Polar White.
