Hyundai celebrates its 25 years in the Indian market by introducing the 7-seater SUV, Alcazar

Hyundai India has just confirmed that its upcoming 7-seater SUV will be called Alcazar. The South Korean automaker has completed 25 years in the Indian market and to celebrate that, Hyundai is likely to launch the SUV by mid-2021. The three-row SUV will be based on Hyundai Creta and will be locally developed at Hyundai’s Chennai Plant. Furthermore, the SUV has been spotted doing test runs on multiple occasions in the past. The spy shots of both exterior and interior have emerged online thereby giving us an idea of what the SUV will look like. Hyundai Alcazar: Price In India

The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be priced at Rs 11.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). The price is likely to go as high as Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Exterior

The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar will get subtle changes on the front fascia in terms of bumper and grille so as to look a bit distinct from the Creta. The three-row SUV will also get a new alloy wheel design. Talking about the rear end, it too will be redesigned.

Hyundai Alcazar: Seating Configuration

Spy images of the interior of the three-row SUV Alcazar have surfaced online. From the images, we can clearly see that the second row in the SUV gets captain seats. This further confirms that this is a 6-seat version of Alcazar. Besides these, we can also expect the Alcazar to come with the option of 7-seat wherein a bench seat will be offered in the second row. The seats are finished in the dual-tone shade. The second-row seats also get dedicated ISOFIX mounts. Talking about the third-row seats, they can easily accommodate two adults. However, the legroom space for the third-row occupants could be limited. 



Hyundai Alcazar: Interior Features

When we talk about the features, the Hyundai Alcazar will come equipped with a plethora of them. The SUV will offer ADAS technology, known as Hyundai SmartSense, overseas. Furthermore, the vehicle is expected to get Creta’s 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Other notable features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charging, smart cruise control, highway driving assist, and lane departure warning among many others. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Engine Specifications

Under the hood, the upcoming Alcazar will be offered with the same powertrain options as the Hyundai Creta. There will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged CRDi diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
