Bajaj Auto is preparing to introduce Husqvarna bikes in India this year

Bajaj Auto is all set to introduce bikes under the Husqvarna moniker in India. With at least 6 bikes planned, few launches are likely to be scheduled in 2019. Bajaj made a big impact in the sports bike segment when it introduced KTM in India, and with its market knowledge, and timely launches is determined that the introduction of Husqvarna will have an even greater impact.

Bajaj has already announced that the Husqvarna motorcycles will be assembled in India alongside the KTM models for global markets. This could mean that Huskies will have competitive pricing for India. However, the Husqvarna brand will be positioned at a premium over the KTM, which translates to a higher price tag on the Huskies over the current KTM range.

"Definitely Husky will be here in 2019 calendar year and we have some very, very exciting products. We have over half a dozen products under that brand to come in and we are seeking to, in fact, I don't know if I should say this but I think Husqvarna will become even bigger than KTM has become for us! Not only in India, but worldwide. You see, everything we do is with a world-wide focus," Rajiv Bajaj said.

A 373.2cc liquid-cooled engine would deliver 43.5 BHP of power and 37 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed transmission. Features like a slipper clutch, ride by wire throttle, dual-channel ABS and a fully digital instrument cluster will come as standard for the Husqvarna motorcycles.
