HOP electric scooters price starts from Rs 65,500 onwards in the country

HOP Electric Mobility has launched two new electric scooters - Leo and Lyf, in the country. The price for Leo starts from Rs 72,500 onwards. While for Lyf, it starts from Rs 65,500 onwards (all prices, ex-showroom). Both Leo and Lyf are sold in a total of three variants namely Basic, Standard and Extended. Furthermore, they both come equipped with dual 2X Li-ion battery technology which enables them to offer a 125 km riding range on a single battery charge. The top speed for Leo is rated at 60 kmph while drawing power from a 2.7 kW electric motor. HOP Lyf, on the other hand, gets a 2.0 kW electric motor with a top speed of 50 kmph. 


Moving on, both electric scooters feature a 72V architecture with a load-bearing capacity of 180 kg. They further come equipped with a host of features. These include park assist, side stand sensor, USB charging, reverse gear up to 5 kmph, remote key, LED console, three ride modes with reserve mode, dual disc brakes, anti-theft alarm, and anti-theft wheel lock. The company also offers additional accessories such as internet connectivity and GPS with both HOP electric scooters

At present, HOP has set up 5 swapping stations with 50 batteries each in Jaipur. This battery swapping technology will enable the customers to replace their discharged batteries with a fully charged battery within 30 seconds. The HOP electric vehicle can easily cover over 70 km on a single charge with an economical cost of under 20 paise per km. The company aims to build charging stations across India.

Besides these, the Jaipur-based two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to introduce an e-motorbike - HOP OXO 100, anytime soon. The e-bike is slated to offer a 100 km range on a single charge. Furthermore, it will provide a top speed of 100 kmph with a motor power of 7200W. By 2022, the company plans to set up a new manufacturing unit in South India with a capacity to produce a minimum of 5 lakh units per year.
