 Honda ZR-V

Honda is reportedly working on a compact SUV for India. This suggests that one of the upcoming Honda SUVs is likely to be named ZR-V. Adding more strength to our expectation for this name is the fact that the Japanese automaker has just filed a trademark application for the ZR-V name. One of the artists from Brazil, Kleber Silva has released a digital rendering of the future SUV.

According to the rendering, the ZR-V will be a mid-sized SUV instead of a sub-4m SUV. It will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass. The Honda sub-4 metre SUV for India would ride on the low-cost platform of the Honda Amaze. The Honda ZR-V rendering has an angular front fascia that resembles the current-gen Honda Passport and the Pilot SUVs. Apart from this, it features a sculpted bonnet, slimmer headlamps, and strong creases on the bonnet and bumper. Other highlighted features include floating roofline, flared wheel arches, and raked rear windscreen.

The digitally imagined SUV gets a new color scheme and new alloy wheels. The ZR-V is likely to be Honda’s new compact SUV that will be introduced in the Japanese market in 2021. The SUV is expected to be inspired by Honda HR-V and will have a simple design. In the Japanese market, the SUV is expected to compete against the likes of the Suzuki Jimny and the Toyota Raize. If the model is launched in India, then it will compete against the likes of the Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and Kia Seltos.
