News Highlights

  • The Honda X-Blade motorcycle was initially launched in India in 2018.
  • The bike has also been delisted from Honda’s official website.

The leading two-wheeler maker Honda has discontinued manufacturing the X-Blade motorcycle in the country. In 2018, the Honda X-Blade motorcycle was initially introduced to the domestic market by the company. However, this model failed to deliver good sales numbers for the two-wheeler giant. The bike has also been delisted from Honda’s official website.

Even though the Honda X-Blade has been delisted from the brand’s website, buyers can still purchase this model from select Honda dealerships as there must be a few units left to be sold. Honda is expected to roll out special discounts on the remaining X-Blade units in the coming time.

The Honda X-Blade bike is based on the new-generation CB Hornet 160R. It has a sleek design, while the rear and front sections look aggressive, giving it a premium look. The motorcycle features a single seat, and compared to the outgoing Hornet 160R, it gets different tank shrouds. In the brand’s lineup, the X-Blade was placed below the standard CB Hornet 160R.

On the feature front, the motorcycle houses an ABS, service due indicator, LED taillight, speedometer, digital odometer, digital trip meter, alloy wheels, digital fuel gauge, tachometer, and engine kill switch. The Honda X-Blade has a kerb weight of 143 kg, a wheelbase of 1347 mm, and a ground clearance of 160 mm.

Powering the Honda X-Blade is a 162cc single-cylinder engine that generates decent power of 13.8 bhp @ 8000 rpm and torque of 14.7 Nm @ 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission unit. The Honda X-Blade missed out on amenities like a CBS option and rear disc brake. It was not wholeheartedly welcomed by customers because it missed out on key features.
