Honda Cars India has launched the Civic BS6 diesel at a starting price of Rs 20.74 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being available only with a manual gearbox, it has been presented in two grades: VX and XZ. Besides the BS6 compliant diesel engine, Honda Civic now features 6-airbags, including the curtain units, as standard safety feature. Originally launched in March 2019 in the Indian market, the Civic was the largest selling executive sedan during last fiscal year 2019-20 with the petrol engine being BS6 compliant right from the launch.
The Honda Civic diesel BS6 variants come with the same styling and features as their petrol counterparts. They flaunt chrome front grille, signature LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and C shaped LED tail lamp cluster. The cabin boasts of a myriad of premium bells and whistles in the form of electric sunroof, LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, smart entry with push start system, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power driver seat, electric parking brake and a multi-angle rear view camera. In addition, there is a 17.7 cm digital TFT instrument console and a 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard fitment.
If we talk about the safety features of Honda Civic BS6 diesel, then it gets Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, Honda Lane Watch, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist and Rear Seat ISOFIX Child Seat Anchorage. Boasting of an Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, Honda Civic BS6 diesel draws power from a 1.6L i-DTEC turbocharged engine which churns out a top power of 118bhp at 4000rpm and peak torque of 300Nm at 2000rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission while it returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 23.9kmpl. On the other hand, the existing Honda Civic BS6 petrol variants are powered by a 1.8L i-VTEC engine with a CVT automatic gearbox. Honda Civic BS6 diesel prices (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) are as below:
