Honda Amaze is the company's highest-selling model in the Indian market

Honda Cars India has announced that it has cumulatively sold 4 lakh units of Amaze compact sedan since its launch in the country in 2013. It is the company's highest-selling model in the Indian market. Being in its second generation, Honda Amaze was introduced in April 2013 in India and over 2.60 Lakh units of the first-gen model were sold till March 2018. The second-gen Honda Amaze was launched in May 2018 and nearly 1.40 Lakh units of the new sedan have been sold. Presently, Honda Amaze is priced in a range of 6.17-9.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).

Speaking on the milestone, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President & Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “ Honda Amaze has been an extremely successful model for HCIL and is a key pillar of our business. The 4 lakh cumulative milestone for Amaze has been possible because of the love of our customers and support of our dealer partners which has helped Amaze to become a popular brand across markets. It’s a contemporary sedan which not only matches but exceeds customer expectations and this milestone is a testimony that Amaze has struck the right chord with Indian customers. With 42% first time buyers opting for Amaze, we believe it’s a great choice as first car for customers which offers status of a much bigger sedan and great peace of mind with its lowest cost of maintenance to suit their budget.”

Honda also stated that Tier 1 markets have contributed to almost 44 percent of the overall volumes of the Amaze while Tier 2 and 3 cities contributed to 56 percent sales, thus proving that it is equally popular in both metros and non-metros. In fact, 20 percent buyers opted for automatic transmission variants of the current-gen model as compared to the first-gen where the auto variants accounted for just 9 percent of total sales of Amaze. The second-gen Honda Amaze is offered with best in class 3 years Unlimited Kms warranty while lowest cost of maintenance makes it one of the most preferred choices for buyers. It is powered by BS-6 compliant 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine. Both the engines are available with manual and CVT gearbox options.
