Hindustan Motors Contessa Redesigned

Mightyseed Designs, the Kerala-based design house, has reinterpreted the Hindustan Motors Contessa as an EV concept. The Contessa is a classic which was sold in the Indian market between 1984-2002 for nearly two decades. It is one of the two premium cars besides the Ambassador sold by Hindustan Motors in India. Being based on the Vauxhall Victor FE, it was offered with both petrol and diesel engines which were sourced from Isuzu. The Kochi-based design house has reimagined the iconic Contessa in an all-electric avatar.

Going by the images, it is almost unrecognizable as the styling takes a radical departure from the old-school design of Contessa. The front fascia in a rectangle shape is integrated seamlessly in the coupe-esque silhouette while showing the 'HM' emblem in the best possible manner in the current times. Mightyseed Designs’ has modified the boxy sedan into a three-door grand tourer. Some of the other standout elements in the EV concept are strand-like tyre walls, sharp ridges at front, no physical door handles and the narrow camera sticks in place of ORVMs. The Mightyseed Contessa Electric Concept rides on 10-spoke wheels while having a fairly low ground clearance which doesn't appear odd.

Contrary to the contemporary trend of electric vehicles boasting of coaxial motors, Mightyseed Contessa gets rid of it. However, following the global fashion of LED tail-lamp clusters, it too has been given one by the Mightyseed Designs. The sloping roofline perfectly compliments the overall rear profile and gives it an appearance like Porsche Taycan. The design house has carried out a commendable work and they deserve every round of applause for this masterwork as it is practically very difficult to imagine a grand tourer out of a Contessa but these designers have slayed it. Keep following this space for more such exciting news regarding modifications and other stuff.
