Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch the Xtreme 160R in the country soon; the bike is likely to take its design and styling cues from the Xtreme 1.R Concept.

Hero MotoCorp recently added a separate ‘Test Ride’ section on the official webpage of the Xtreme 160R, thus indicating that the test ride registration for the bike is now open. The company is all set to launch the Xtreme 160R in the country soon with an aim to re-enter the hot 160cc - 200cc bike segment. No exact date has yet been confirmed for its launch. However, the upcoming motorcycle had already been listed on the company’s official website in March 2020. Competing against the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, the Xtreme 160R is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 90,000 - Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). With the government easing the lockdown restrictions, Hero MotorCorp has restarted its operation under the strict guidelines. 

 


The bike was first unveiled at the Hero World 2020 event earlier this year. The company has not revealed the full specifications of the motorcycle till date. However, in terms of design, the bike is likely to take its design and styling cues from the Xtreme 1.R Concept. It also gets an Xtreme logo on the tank. It will feature an aggressive full LED headlight with a short visor above it. The two-wheeler gets a set of 17-inch alloy wheels along with reflective sidewall strips and a sporty single-unit step-up seat. The rear end gets a high-rise tail section along with smoked-out LED taillights and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock suspension. The motorcycle comes with 37mm Showa front forks. Other highlighted features include a digital instrument cluster, LED side turn indicators, side stand, engine cut-off, hazard lights, integrated pillion grab rails, engine kill, and a start switch.

Under the frame, the Hero Xtreme 160R will draw power from a BS6 compliant 160cc, single-cylinder petrol engine with fuel-injection and SOHC setup. This air-cooled powerplant is expected to churn out 15 bhp power and 14 Nm torque. Xtreme 160R is believed to accelerate from 0 - 60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds as it has a kerb weight of 138.5 kgs.
