Indian manufacturer, Hero has announced that it will increase the ex-showroom rates of its bikes from January 2018. This increase in price is to partially offset the increasing input cost. The increase in price will translate to around Rs 400 per model. The exact rate will change based on the bike model and its region.

In other news, the motorcycle company revealed three new commuter bikes, namely, the Super Splendor, Passion XPro and Passion Pro. All three bikes are part of the company’s biggest brands and will be launched in a phased method from the beginning of 2018. These new motorcycles are expected to be launched with the reassessed prices.

At the launch, Hero was quoted saying that, “With the launch of the new Passion Pro, Passion XPro and Super Splendor, we aim to further consolidate our leadership in the 100-125cc segments. These new motorcycles come with bold styling and more power, while still retaining their product DNA; and will surely be appreciated by the customers.”

Hero is also planning to make an entry to the smaller adventure bike segment with the upcoming XPule. At the launch of the new motorcycles, the company also said that it will now shift attention to raise its market share in the premium segment.
