Hero MotoCorp and ASDC collaborates to develop short term training courses on two-wheeler preventive maintenance & repair

Hero MotoCorp has collaborated with ASDC to develop a comprehensive two-wheeler short-term training course on two-wheeler preventive maintenance and repair. The aim is to develop customized courses that will include BS6 technology and other new features of the two-wheeler industry. This program will consist of 63 days of theory and practicals. It will be held at the approved Skilled Development Centre. This will further be followed by 14 days of ‘On the Job Training' at the authorized two-wheeler service centres. Furthermore, the course has been approved by the apex regulator National Council of Vocational Education & Training (NCVET) in the apprenticeship portal.

“As the market leader and a responsible corporate, Hero MotoCorp has been continuously introducing the latest technologies in the industry and fostering a spirit of innovation amongst the youth of the country. With the current technological advancements in the automotive sector, new-age vehicles are more advanced, connected, and smart. The Two-Wheeler Preventive Maintenance & Repair program will enable students and professionals to develop relevant skills in these new technologies and become self-reliant, thereby empowering them for a brighter future. The program will focus on new sets of skills and knowledge and lead to proficiency upgrading across the entire value chain,” as commented by Naveen Chauhan, Head of Sales and After Sales, Hero MotoCorp.

Through the content provided by Hero MotoCorp, ASDC plans to deliver a variety of learning modules and certifications in automotive servicing. This program will also help ASDC to enhance its capacity and capabilities in curriculum building, along with faculty training, to meet global standards.

“We are extremely happy to partner with Hero MotoCorp, as it will allow us to reach a large number of youths, who can be skilled and subsequently gainfully employed in the industry. Hero MotoCorp partnership with ASDC will further enhance the program, develop new training course curriculums, and certification of trainers and students for the future, in consultation with experts from the automotive industry and from academia. It is also important that the younger generation in the country put in their hearts the jobs that they are performing in addition to their hands and minds. This alone will bring in the sense of pride in what they are doing, leading to a high-quality performance which is critical in leading the country to a leadership position in the world of manufacturing,” as commented by Vinod Agarwal, President of ASDC.

Hero MotoCorp and ASDC, together, plan to bridge the supply gap of skilled workers in the automotive industry besides fulfilling the manpower requirement across the country. The program will also help the candidates to develop relevant skills in futuristic vehicles.
