The luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor Group, Genesis Motor has launched the 2020 G90 Limousine. While the luxury carmaker hasn’t really been able to put up a competition with other players in the market, the Korean brand looks to change it with the introduction of the G90 Limousine.
While other markets have to wait a few more months to get the facelifted G90 flagship, Genesis has just unveiled a long wheelbase version for the Korean market. The G90 Limousine is 5945 mm long, has a wheelbase of 3450 mm and is also slightly taller than the regular G90 sedan at 1505 mm. The 290 mm extension in the car’s length helps in attaining impressive levels of rear legroom.
The limousine is meant for the wealthy who wish to be carried in extreme luxury and comfort and Genesis has made sure the car keeps them cocooned in the cabin. The lavish rear passenger compartment features two 18-way power adjustable VIP seats upholstered in semi-aniline quilted leather, two TV monitors, Alcantara headliner, and a command center located atop the console separating the seats.
On the outside, the G90 Limousine adopts subtle upgrades compared to the standard-wheelbase model including a chrome garnish at the top of the grille, chrome side mirror supports, and of course the added sheet metal clearly visible on the sides that justifies its limo designation.
There is only one engine option on offer, a 5.0-litre V8 gasoline engine rated at 425 PS of peak power and 520 Nm of torque. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via the standard AWD system. The luxury sedan also gets an adaptive suspension as standard.
The Genesis G90 Limousine is available at a starting price of 155.1 million won (approximately Rs. 98 Lakhs) in Korea. The company hasn’t revealed any information as to whether they will launch the limousine in other markets.
