Skoda India has finally launched the fourth-generation 2021 Octavia at an ex-showroom price of Rs 25.99 Lakhs in the country. The new-gen sedan has been introduced in two trims namely Style and Laurin & Klement. The fourth-gen 2021 Skoda Octavia debuts the brand's 'shift by wire' technology with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox in the Indian market. Skoda Octavia will directly rival Hyundai Elantra in India as two of its other competitors namely Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cruz have already been discontinued in the domestic market.


The 2021 Skoda Octavia measures 4,689 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width, and 1,469 mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. The front end flaunts a chrome grille with new razor-sharp Bi-LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs). It is available in five paint schemes: Lava Blue, Candy White, Magic Black, Brilliant Silver, and Maple Brown, with the last two exclusively available for the Laurin & Klement variant. The cabin is finished in a premium beige suede leather upholstery with chrome highlights. It also features a redesigned multi-level dashboard with a multifunction steering wheel with paddle shift and black leather. The occupants can also assign various colour palettes to the dashboard and footwell. In fact, the new lighting system also assists in safety and turns red when the front doors open.




As for features, the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia gets all-digital instrument cluster, 600W Canton Sound system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer, Dual-Zone Climatronic air conditioning system, Electric tailgate, LED reading light unit, smartphone pockets on the front seat backs, easy open-cup holders, twin USB C Ports and a 25.4 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & MyŠKODA Connect. It has a boot capacity of 600 litres which can be further extended upto 1,555 litres by folding the rear seats. The company has integrated a funnel into the lid of the windscreen washer tank and it now has water ducts, which allows rainwater to drain optimally.




Coming to the safety features, the 2021 Skoda Octavia boasts of 8 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), tyre pressure monitoring system, iBuzz Fatigue Alert and AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) as standard. Under the bonnet, it has the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine which delivers maximum power of 187 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. The engine is linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox with 'shift by wire' technology and electric parking brake. The sedan returns an ARAI certified mileage of 15.81kmpl. The bookings and deliveries for the 2021 Octavia will start from today.
