Bookings have commenced for the second-gen Amaze.

Dealerships are currently accepting bookings for the updated car for an amount of Rs 21,000. Deliveries will commence by the end of next month and the company has confirmed that there will be four powertrain options on sale. There will be a 1.2-litre petrol with either a manual or a CVT gearbox, and a 1.5-litre diesel with a standard manual transmission, and for the first time, with a CVT automatic.

The diesel CVT version is expected to deliver excellent fuel-efficiency figures and it will compete with cars like the VW Ameo diesel DSG, and the diesel AMT variants of the Dzire and the Zest. Both the petrol CVT and diesel CVT variants will feature paddle-shifters.

This time around, the Amaze is inspired by the bigger City sedan. On the inside, there are dual-tone interiors and you get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Honda’s Digipad, multi-function steering wheel, and push-button start and cruise control, depending on the variant. The cabin, like most Hondas, is expected to be spacious.

The ca will launch mid-May this year and may be priced slightly higher than the current car.
