Ahead of launch, Ford Figo seen testing on Indian roads without any camouflage.

There were reports in the past few weeks that Ford has scheduled the launch of the facelifted model of its Figo for March 2019. Now, there are a few photos that completely display the Figo facelift sans all the camouflage. The updated model of the hatchback from American giant will have the same kind of changes that were seen on the Aspire sedan that was facelifted last year. Armed with sharper looks and an aggressive styling the facelifted Figo is all set to lock horns with Swift upon launch.

As the new photos reveal, the updated Figo has a grille reminiscent of the Aspire sedan, flanking the grille are new headlamps. The fog lamps are neatly located on the black insert that sits underneath the new bumper at the front. The wheels too have been upgraded, and the Figo now has sporty looking 15-inch black alloy wheels, these wheels will be available on the top models only. The overall design and silhouette of the car is unchanged and the facelift only aims to tweak up the looks of Figo.

Coming to the cabin of the car, the similarities between facelifted Aspire sedan and this updated model can be found here as well. There is a new dashboard and the center console too has received an overhaul. Talking of the dashboard, the facelifted Figo now sports a new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. As far as other features are concerned the facelift brings rain-sense wipers, automatic headlamps, and climate control etc on the new Figo.

Coming to the mechanics, then updated hatchback will now be offered with 2 new petrol engines. The first will be the 1.2-litre Dragon 3-pot engine rated for 94 PS and 120 Nm, while the other is the updated 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated for 123 PS-150 Nm. While the smaller 1.2-litre petrol unit will come with a 5-speed manual, the larger 1.5-litre petrol will be paired with an automatic transmission. The diesel engine remains unchanged and the 1.5-litre unit (100 PS-215 Nm) will be offered with a 5-speed manual.

As already mentioned the new Ford Figo Facelift will hit the launch floor in March, likely by the third week of the month. Considering the changes on the car the prices are supposed to go up a smidge, and the recent reports suggest the same. A starting price of slightly above Rs. 5.5 lakhs will surely heat up the segment with rivals such as Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift already registering a strong presence in the space. The rivals to Figo Facelift are regular faces on the monthly top seller charts, hence the facelifted model already has its task cut out.
