Ford will be introducing a 6-speed automatic gearbox in the new Figo; likely to be launched by end of August 2020.

Ford India is all set to launch the new petrol automatic version of its hatchback, Figo, by August end. The American carmaker will be introducing a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox in the new Figo just like the one present in the EcoSport SUV. Once launched, the hatchback is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakhs - Rs 8.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The petrol automatic Ford Figo will adorn a sporty look. Upfront, it will feature a refreshed trapezoidal chrome-covered grille, adjustable headlights, and C-shaped fog lamps. Other design highlights will comprise of a sloping roofline and a muscular bonnet with sculpted lines. At the sides, the hatchback gets blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and alloy wheels.

The interior of the five-seater petrol-automatic Figo will boast of adjustable seats with fabric upholstery. The hatchback will flaunt a touchscreen infotainment system that will support connectivity features such as Bluetooth. Other feature highlights would include automatic climate control and a power steering wheel. As for safety, the hatchback is likely to offer six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mount, rear parking sensors, and child safety locks.

Under the hood, the Ford Figo automatic will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre dragon petrol engine that delivers 96 bhp power @ 6500 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. This new gearbox is likely to improve the throttle response at low engine speeds. Ford launched the Facelifted model of Figo last year in March. Currently, the hatchback is available in four trims namely Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium Blu. The petrol variants are priced in the range of Rs 5.49 lakhs - Rs 7.05 lakhs (ex-showroom). While the diesel variants are priced between Rs 7.16 lakhs - Rs 8.15 lakhs (ex-showroom). Earlier this year, the company discontinued the petrol automatic Titanium variants.
