Ford Endeavour received its BS6 update earlier this year. Now Ford India is planning to launch the Sport Edition of the Endeavour, commonly known as the Dark Edition, sometime soon in the country. The premium seven-seater SUV has been spotted doing tests runs on the roads quite a few times. Recently, it was spotted at one of Ford’s dealerships. Seeing the pictures, we have listed out Top 5 Things to Know about the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition.
1. Ford Endeavour Sport Edition Expected Price in India
We can expect the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition to be Rs 1 lakh costlier than the top-end trim Titanium Plus. Currently, the standard variant of Endeavour falls in the price bracket of Rs 29.99 lakhs - Rs 34.45 lakhs (ex-showroom).
2. Ford Endeavour Sport Edition: Exterior Features
In comparison to the Standard variant, the Sport Edtion of the Endeavour gets all-black elements. The front fascia of the Dark Edition offers a new gloss black honeycomb mesh-like grille instead of three slats horizontal grille that is present on the standard model. The LED headlamps and the foglamps remain unchanged. The SUV gets an all-black front bumper. The engine badging on the front fender is also black. At the sides, it features new matte black ORVMs with integrated turn signals. A gloss black slat with the ‘Endeavour’ lettering is present at the rear of the SUV. There is also a ‘Sport’ badging mounted on the tailgate. This Special Edition of Endeavour gets sport badging in multiple places. Furthermore, the SUV rides on a new set of chunky 6-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels.
3. Ford Endeavour Sport Edition: Interior Features
As for the interiors, not many details about the Sport Edition have been revealed yet. But we can expect a full-black interior. The features are likely to remain unchanged. However, the Sport Edtion will come with a few minor updates. It will get a set of new upholstery with the ‘Sport’ badging plus new metal scuff plates with Sport lettering on it. The equipment list will remain identical to the one present in the standard model. These will include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, a dual-zone climate control, semi-auto parallel park assist, and Ford’s Connected Technology Ford Pass among others. Both the variants will offer a seven-seater configuration.
4. Ford Endeavour Sport Edition: Engine Specifications
Under the bonnet, the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition will get the same powertrain that is present in the standard variant.This is a 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine that generates 168 bhp power @ 3500 rpm and 420 Nm torque @ 2000 rpm. The engine will come linked to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It is likely to be offered in 4X4 and 4X2 drivetrains just as the standard model.
5. Ford Endeavour Sport Edition: Competition
In its segment, the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition will compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner TRD, Mahindra Alturas G4 among many others.
