Fisker Automotive, the American luxury carmaker, recently unveiled its first full-electric SUV, the Fisker Ocean. The premium car has a range of around 480 km and can accelerate in about three seconds from 0-100 km/h. It will go on sale late next year in the United States and is also destined to arrive in India.
The Fisker Ocean has a muscular-yet-sporty posture with a profile that looks much like Volvo XC40, due to its pronounced wheel arches, sharp-looking alloys, and SUV-like dimensions. It also features sleek LED headlights running through the middle of the sloping frunk (front truck) and matching taillights stretching from the end of the arches of the rear wheel to the center of the car.
The Fisker Ocean has a minimalist dashboard design inside the cabin, featuring a large center-sized touchscreen and a digital instrument console. The company will also add a heads-up display in Karaoke mode to display song lyrics. There is also an interesting' California mode,' in which all the windows, the rear windscreen and the sunroof roll-down at a button touch.
The Fisker Ocean is powered by an 80kWh battery allegedly offering 480 kilometers of range. The exact power figures have yet to be announced, but the company says that in about three seconds the SUV can sprint from 0-100 km / h.
The Fisker Ocean comes at $37,499 (around Rs. 27 lakh) starting price and interested buyers can pre-order the emission-free SUV for a $250 refundable token. It will go on sale late next year in the United States, followed by a 2022 launch in Europe and China. The Ocean will arrive in India as well, but not soon (maybe by 2025).
