Seven of the top ten are SUVs/Crossovers; India to get seven cars from the list.

The shortlist for the World Car of the Year 2017 is out. SUVs and crossovers have been steadily gaining popularity and this clearly reflects in the list, as seven of the final ten are from these segments.

The Indian market is set to get seven of these ten cars, one of which, the jaguar F-Pace, is already here.

There’s finally some good news for the VW Group as five of their cars have made it to the final ten.

The top three will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show (March 17, 2017) and the winner will be announced at the New York Motor Show (April 13, 2017).   

Other award categories include World Luxury/Performance Car, World Urban Car, World Green Car and World Car Design of the Year.

• Honda Civic
