Elon Musk has released all Tesla patents and won't file lawsuit against companies which use their tech

The world is changing or at least that's what we have been made to believe. The era of fossil fuelled cars might be coming to an end and to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk has released all the company's patents.

Patents play an important role and Tesla has plenty of them which make the American car maker's vehicle's an engineering feat. In a blog post, Musk promised that Tesla will not file lawsuits against anyone who uses their patents in good faith. What this means is, any other car maker can use Tesla's patents and technology to accelerate their development of electric cars.

While many might find this move hampering to their own company, as it will create competition, Musk sees it otherwise. The Tesla chief believes such a move will help in a greater adoption of electric vehicles. He finds the real competition for electric cars to be gasoline cars which are higher on emissions.
