After a slow 2020, Ducati plans to launch 12 products in the country to refresh its portfolio

Ducati India is kicking off 2021 in style with 3 Scrambler Motorcycles launching tomorrow in India. This is just the beginning for the Italian motorcycle giant as it plans to launch 12 products in the lucrative Indian two-wheeler market. The new products will complement the existing Scrambler line-up in the country. Out of the 3 motorcycles, two are Scrambler Icon and Icon Dark while the third one is still unclear. The third bike could either be a special edition Scrambler Nightshift or the refreshed Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro Dark. All these motorcycles were showcased last year during the Ducati World Premiere event.

Talking about the changes, new Scramblers come with cosmetic tweaks, efficient BS6 engines, updated electronics, and host of new features. Performance-wise, all the 4 scramblers will come with the same engine set-up. They will be powered by a BS6 compliant 803cc air-cooled L-Twin engine that will deliver 72 bhp of power output and 66Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission which is the same as before in the discontinued models. 2021 Scramblers will come equipped with an LCD display instrument cluster and LED lighting. Also, the upcoming Icon and Desert Sled models will be coming with new attractive paint schemes.

This is just the beginning for the Italian motorcycle giant as it plans to launch 12 products in the lucrative Indian two-wheeler market. 2020 was low-key for Ducati as there were only 4 motorcycles in their product portfolio post the BS6 Emission Norm adoption. Last year, only Multistrada 950, Ducati Panigale V2 and two Scrambler 1100 made their way to the Indian shore. Pricewise, Scrambler Icon would lie somewhere between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh while it will be more expensive in case of special edition models.
