The French automaker Citroen has finally made its entry into the Indian market with the launch of the 2021 C5 Aircross SUV. It has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 29.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is offered in two variants with one engine-gearbox combination. Hyundai Tucson, on the other hand, is a well-equipped offering and also more affordable in its top-spec than the entry-level Citroen C5 Aircross. In terms of dimensions, Citroen C5 Aircross is the longest, widest, and tallest than the Hyundai Tucson. The SUV stands at 4500mm in length, 1969mm in width, and 1710mm in height. Hyundai Tucson, on the other hand, is 4480mm long, 1850mm wide, and 1660mm tall. Citroen C5 comes with a wheelbase of 2730mm, which is again the longest in comparison to the Tucson. Citroen C5 Aircross has been launched with a solitary diesel engine. While Hyundai Tucson comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The C5’s 2.0-litre diesel unit produces less power in comparison to Tucson’s 2.0-litre diesel engine. However, the torque output remains the same at 400 Nm. Talking about the gearbox, Citroen and Hyundai both come mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic as standard. Moving on to Tucson’s 2.0-litre petrol unit, it comes paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
